The inclusion of informative alt-text for all images or graphic content provided by authors or editors is a vital Accessible ePUB3 component.
The DPS Alt-text Editor (ATED) is designed to simplify the creation and revision of Alt-text for images.
Upload any ePUB file to display every image in the file with its accompanying Alt-text.
Both short and long descriptions are presented.
Any changes or additions made to these descriptions will be preserved when the file is saved to a local drive.
All saved files are renamed with an "ATED" extension and version number to avoid overwriting originals.
As the alt-text proceeds from creation to final, ATED files may be shared with others to allow for progressive improvements in the Alt-text.
